Meet Shine
Shine's journey began with rare conditions affecting his mobility and development. Born with fused fingers and toes, limited joint movement, and difficulty opening his eyes and mouth, he faced numerous challenges. But at UC Davis Children's Hospital, a team of specialists provided the customized care he needed. A difficult decision led to leg amputations, but Shine's spirit soared as he embraced prosthetics and a life of movement. Today, he's an active 7-year-old, proving that resilience and determination can overcome any obstacle.
