Diagnosed with Autism at two years old, Gabriel faced sensory processing difficulties that impacted his daily life. Simple tasks like getting a haircut were overwhelming due to sensitivities to sound and touch. At Mohawk Valley Health System, occupational therapy provided a safe space for Gabriel to address these challenges. Through specialized equipment like the Sensory Swing, funded by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and the dedication of his therapists, Gabriel learned to manage his sensitivities and participate more fully in the world around him.
