Adam Devine Joins Children’s Miracle Network as Chief FUN-Raiser to Help Raise $1 Billion for Kids’ Health

Published on March 11, 2026

Actor and Comedian Devine, Former Patient and Longtime Supporter of Organization, Joins To Bring Attention to Critical Funding Needs for Local Children’s Hospitals.

Salt Lake City, Utah (March 11, 2026) – Actor and comedian Adam Devine is partnering with Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), the charity that focuses on raising funds and championing the health of all kids, to serve as the organization’s first Chief FUN-Raiser. This role was specifically designed for Devine and is intended to drive support for the organization’s recently launched Health For All Kids Impact Pledge, a $1 billion, two-year fundraising initiative that will help children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada address their greatest areas of need and respond to urgent pediatric healthcare demands amid unstable funding sources.

Devine, known for his roles in The Righteous Gemstones, Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, and Modern Family, is uniquely connected to CMN. As an 11-year-old, he was struck by a cement truck and incurred significant injuries. He underwent more than 25 surgeries and two years of treatment at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Neb., a CMN partner hospital that receives fundraising support from the organization.

As an adult, Devine has been a strong supporter of CMN by helping raise funds and awareness for the cause. In this enhanced role as Chief FUN-Raiser, Devine will use his platform to rally support for the Health For All Kids Impact Pledge by serving as a key spokesperson for the organization, hosting the annual talent show for CMN’s Elevate conference in Orlando, and participating in additional opportunities to support the CMN mission. He will continue his important role of visiting patients and families at CMN hospitals, while bringing cheer, joy and fun to every interaction.

The Health For All Kids Impact Pledge greatly accelerates the heritage of CMN’s contributions-to-date, as the organization has raised nearly $10 billion for its network of 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada since its inception in 1983.

“We’ve gotten to know Adam over the past decade of his support, and we know he is the perfect person to be our Chief FUN-Raiser because he brings joy wherever he goes,” said Aimee J.Daily, Ph.D., President & CEO, Children’s Miracle Network. “Our Health For All Kids Impact Pledge shines a light on the critical role philanthropy plays in supporting children’s hospitals. At a time when hospitals are being asked to do more with fewer resources, Adam can speak authentically about how donations create real impact for children and families in their local communities.”

Through its partners, programs and donors, CMN raises money for its network of local children’s hospitals. Because CMN provides unrestricted funding, children’s hospitals have the flexibility to direct those dollars where they are needed most, from innovative research and technology to programs that make hospital stays more pleasant for kids and their families. In response to growing financial pressures on pediatric healthcare, CMN is shifting its strategic focus to emphasize the critical role philanthropy must play in meeting children’s health needs.

Children’s Miracle Network calls on everyone to join the movement to ensure Health For All Kids by visiting cmn.org/pledge to join the pledge and make a donation.

Salt Lake City, Utah (Jan. 13, 2026) – Children’s Miracle Network® (CMN), the charity that focuses solely on raising funds to support the health of all kids, launched The Health For All Kids Impact Pledge today to demonstrate its participation in providing the necessary resources to support the country’s pediatric healthcare demands amid unstable funding sources.

The $1 billion, two-year fundraising initiative greatly accelerates the heritage of CMN’s contributions-to-date, as the organization has raised nearly $10 billion for its network of 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada since its inception in 1983.

CMN’s model ensures that 100% of dollars support the network’s local children’s hospital in the market where they were raised.

“In today’s healthcare landscape, children’s hospitals have to do more with less at a time when kids’ healthcare needs are becoming more complex and more urgent,” said Aimee J. Daily, Ph.D., President & CEO, Children’s Miracle Network. “The Impact Pledge demonstrates our expanded commitment to participate in the solution and invites communities to join our movement to ensure kids have the best possible chance for happy, healthy futures.”

In New York City on Jan. 12, the organization celebrated its updated mission through The Balloon Signal of Support. This event unveiled its updated logo mark in the sky against the Manhattan skylinethrough a dramatic demonstration of 300 drones, presented by Marriott Bonvoy. The iconic CMN balloon logo has connected partners, donors, hospitals, volunteers, and patients to the organization for more than 40 years.

“The balloon serves as a symbol for children’s health and a representation of the organization’s commitment to elevate what’s possible in children’s healthcare through the power of its network,” said Daily. “In addition to the pledge, our new positioning will bring clarity and attention to the urgent need to raise funds for children’s health.”

Adam Devine, known for his roles in Righteous Gemstones, Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, and Modern Family, is uniquely connected to CMN. As an 11-year-old, he sustained significant injuries after being struck by a cement truck. With support from CMN-funded services at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, he underwent more than 25 surgeries and two years of treatment, ultimately regaining the ability to walk. To demonstrate his support, he often visits kids receiving care in hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.

“I know what it’s like to spend years of your childhood in a hospital and my partnership with Children’s Miracle Network is deeply personal,” said Devine. “Since I had such a positive recovery experience in the hospital, I personally understand that we need to do more, so hospitals can do more, because kids deserve more.”

Children’s Miracle Network calls on everyone to join the movement to ensure Health for All Kids. Everyone can answer the Balloon Signal of Support by visiting cmn.org/pledge to join the pledge and make a donation to Children’s Miracle Network. How to Support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals with a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

News
CMN Balloon

Published on October 2, 2025

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) have emerged as a transformative tool in philanthropy, offering a flexible and tax-efficient way to support causes close to your heart. At Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we recognize the profound impact DAFs can have on advancing pediatric healthcare and ensuring every child receives the medical care they deserve. We now offer DAFpay when donating online to allow donors to support us through their DAF in just a few clicks!

Understanding Donor-Advised Funds

A DAF functions similarly to a charitable savings account. You contribute assets, such as cash, stocks, or other investments, when they align with your financial planning. These contributions are tax-deductible at the time of donation and can grow tax-free if invested. When you’re ready, you can recommend grants from your DAF to qualified nonprofit organizations like Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, allowing you to support the causes that matter most to you.

Benefits of Donor Advised Funds

  1. Tax Efficiency: Receive an immediate tax deduction upon contributing to your DAF. Additionally, any investment growth within the fund is tax-free, maximizing the potential impact of your charitable dollars.
  2. Simplicity: DAF sponsors handle all administrative tasks, including record-keeping, disbursements, and tax receipts, allowing you to focus on your philanthropic goals.
  3. Flexibility: Decide when and how much to contribute to your DAF independently of when you recommend grants, providing strategic control over your charitable giving.
  4. Legacy Building: Establish a tradition of philanthropy by involving family members in grant recommendations or by naming successors to continue your charitable mission.

Why Choose CMN Hospitals for Your DAF Contributions?

By supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through your DAF, you directly support critical treatments, healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment, and charitable care for children in your community. Your generosity ensures that local hospitals have the resources they need to provide the best possible care for young patients.

How to Get Started

  1. Establish a DAF: If you haven’t already, set up a donor-advised fund through a DAF sponsor.
  2. Contribute Assets: Donate cash, securities, or other assets to your DAF and receive an immediate tax deduction.
  3. Donate with DAFpay: DAFpay is now available when giving online to distribute DAF funds in just a few clicks!

Join Us in Making Miracles Happen

As donor-advised funds continue to grow in popularity, especially among younger philanthropists, they represent the future of charitable giving. Their accessibility and technological advancements have made managing DAFs more straightforward than ever. By choosing to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through your DAF, you’re investing in the health and well-being of children in your local communities.

For more information or assistance about directing DAF grants to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, please contact us at support@cmnhospitals.org. Together, we can change kids’ health and change the future – for all of us.

Record-Breaking 2024 Fundraising for Kids’ Health!

Published on September 25, 2025

We're thrilled to announce our 2024 Annual Report, which reveals a historic fundraising total of over $464 million—the most ever raised in a single year for children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. This monumental achievement is a testament to the incredible generosity of communities nationwide, fueling vital support for children's health.

How Your Donations Make a Difference

This record-breaking sum directly empowers our member hospitals to address the wide range of health challenges children face, including complex medical conditions, premature births, mental health support, and urgent social needs.

The real impact of this support is powerfully shown through stories like that of twin boys, Jack and Barrett. Born prematurely with low chances of survival, they are now thriving thanks to dedicated care from a local member hospital and resources like travel assistance and NICVIEW cameras.

The Power of Collaboration

This incredible impact is a direct result of the collaboration across four vital components of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals:

  • Dedicated partners.
  • Innovative fundraising programs.
  • World-class member hospitals.
  • The national office team that supports it all.

These combined efforts allow member hospitals to address their communities’ most urgent needs, from funding critical treatments and advanced equipment to supporting specialized services and charitable care for families. In fact, 43 of our member hospitals were recognized in the U.S. News & World Report rankings in 2024, reflecting the exceptional quality of care delivered within our network.

We invite you to explore the full 2024 Annual Report to see how your contributions ensure every child has the chance to reach their full potential.

Double Your Impact Through Employer Matching Gifts

Published on September 17, 2025

Every day, generous people like you give to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to help change kids’ health and change the future. Your donation already makes a huge difference—but did you know many employers will match your gift at no extra cost to you?

Employer matching gifts are a simple way to multiply your impact. Here’s how it works: when you make a donation, your employer may contribute an equal (or sometimes even greater) amount to the same cause. That means your one act of kindness could go twice as far in helping kids receive the care they need.

You Give, They Match, Double Your Impact Banner

How to See If You’re Eligible

We’ve made it simple to check:

  1. Search our employer matching gift database
  2. Follow the steps provided if your company is listed.
  3. Don’t see your employer? Ask your HR or benefits team—many companies offer matches even if they aren’t in every database.

A matched donation isn’t just a number on a page—it’s more comfort, more hope, and more miracles for children across North America.

A Small Step, A Big Impact

Taking a few minutes to submit a matching gift request could:

  • Double (or even triple!) the support kids receive through your generosity
  • Bring more healing, hope, and resources to children and families
  • Make your kindness stretch even further

With the power of matching gifts, your generosity can inspire miracles that last a lifetime.

Child Life Specialists: An Inside Look

Published on July 18, 2025

From vibrant painting projects to the soothing sounds of musical instruments, Child Life Specialists bring immense value to the hospital experience. These dedicated programs and specialists at our member hospitals provide comfort, joy, and a sense of normalcy for children receiving care. Through activities like art therapy, music therapy, pet therapy, and engaging in play activities, they create an environment where children can simply be children.

Beyond the fun, Child Life Specialists are important in helping children and their families navigate difficult times, whether it’s understanding a new diagnosis, preparing for a procedure, or coping with the loss of a loved one. They offer age-appropriate education, develop pain management strategies, and create spaces where children can express their feelings and have unique experiences.

Child Life Specialists are critical to the daily work of children’s hospitals. Recognizing their impact, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals annually honors one Child Life Specialist from our network.

The 2025 Child Life Specialist of the Year award was presented to Mary Beth Nichols at the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at the April Children’s Hospitals Week event.

“The Child Life Specialist of the Year award honors the extraordinary individuals who bring comfort and joy to children during some of their most challenging moments,” shared Aimee J. Daily, Ph.D., President & CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“I am so touched. This is like a dream. I am in awe that people see my passion for being a child life specialist. I love what I do, and I’m honored to do it!” said Nichols.

Donations to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals support vital Child Life programs across member hospitals in the U.S. and Canada, helping to ensure every child has the best experience.

HuskyTHON is the Dance Marathon Partner of the Year

Published on April 21, 2021

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is thrilled to announce HuskyTHON at the University of Connecticut as the Dance Marathon Partner of the Year!

The Dance Marathon Partner of the Year award recognizes outstanding strategic partners that have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to CMN Hospitals through innovative fundraising and awareness initiatives.

In 2020, HuskyTHON:

  • Announced fundraising total of $1,520,235 (a YOY increase of 14.4%)
  • Increased registration to 3,304 participants (up from 3,166 in 2019)
  • Won the Ideal Business Partner Pitch competition at Dance Marathon Leadership Conference

Despite the impact of COVID-19, HuskyTHON continues to be a leader among organizations on their campus and within the CMN Hospitals network. HuskyTHON has collaborated with university administration to pave the way for hybrid and small in-person student events at UCONN and they are celebrated on campus as a model organization for student life. Within the MNDM network, they share their fundraising knowledge and encourage many programs to implement best practices to increase fundraising and participation. In March, HuskyTHON’s 2021 marathon was livestreamed over two days and celebrated an announced total of $1,052,534.21 raised during the 2020-2021 school year.

This photo was taken prior to the pandemic

Although many observers would consider this success to be ‘enough,’ HuskyTHON continues to strive for improvements to its program. With the goal of greater student involvement and increased diversity among leadership and participants, HuskyTHON took the following steps in the 2020-2021 academic year:

  • Added a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force to their organization in response to national anti-racism protests.
  • Expanded their organization to include committee members for the first time.
  • Targeted the UCONN satellite campuses for the recruitment of students, faculty, and staff.

HuskyTHON doesn’t stop at doing the minimum for local kids; they continue to go above and beyond to engage all members of their community to support the patients and families treated at Connecticut Children’s. They are continuously enhancing, enriching, and expanding their engagement into the community.

For all of these reasons, we are proud to name HuskyTHON at the University of Connecticut as the Dance Marathon Program of the Year! Congratulations HuskyTHON and thanks for all you do to change kids’ health and change the future.

Play Yellow Goes Live

Play Yellow Goes Live

Published on March 13, 2019

On March 13th Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, PGA TOUR officials, and CMN Hospitals’ CEO John Lauck came together in Ponte Vedra, FL during a press conference on the eve of THE PLAYERS to urge the global golf community to Play Yellow for children’s hospitals and help raise $100 million over the next five years.

For years, the Nicklaus family has supported Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, recognizing their reliance on donations to fund pediatric care insurance programs do not cover. In partnership with CMN Hospitals, the Nicklaus family, along with support from the PGA TOUR and many of its partners, is encouraging the golf community to fill this funding gap in pediatric healthcare through the Play Yellow campaign.

Outreach for support of the Play Yellow campaign began earlier this year, and the list of core partners grows daily. The list thus far includes: the PGA TOUR, THE PLAYERS, Travelers Championship, Topgolf, Callaway, Srixon, the TPC Network, PGA TOUR Superstore, Marriott Golf, TaylorMade, Titleist, FootJoy and Golf Digest. The results of Play Yellow will be celebrated during the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide May 30 – June 2.

“The PGA TOUR is honored to join Jack and Barbara Nicklaus to Play Yellow,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. “With your support, we can help patients at children’s hospitals across North America. For many years, the Nicklaus family has supported children’s hospitals in their home states of Ohio and Florida. Today, the PGA TOUR is excited to join them and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to engage the entire golf world in impacting even more lives with a unique, new initiative.”

Play Yellow stems from the yellow shirts Jack often wore in the final round of tournaments in honor of Craig Smith, the son of a close family friend and who was battling a rare bone cancer. Craig passed way in 1971 at the age of 13. Fifteen years later, on the morning of the ’86 Masters, Jack, at age 46, once again wore a yellow shirt, playing one of golf history’s most iconic rounds and winning his record sixth Green Jacket. “We are inspired by this story and the Nicklaus family,” said Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ President and CEO John Lauck. “They and the PGA TOUR are really driving positive impact at unprecedented levels to support and improve local communities. We’re grateful for their support and the continued impact Play Yellow will make on kids’ health.”

Benefiting from Play Yellow are kids like 9-year-old A.J. Blinn of Jacksonville, Fla., who attended the announcement. A year ago, he had major hip surgery at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville to treat a rare childhood hip condition. Recovery from hip surgery has kept him from most of the sports he loves, except golf. He has remained active on the course, evident by his swing.

“There isn’t a higher calling than helping a child in need,” said Barbara Nicklaus. Jack echoed his wife: “I completely agree. We hope you’ll join the cause and Play Yellow for kids.” Barbara and Jack have a long history and close ties to a number of CMN Hospitals, most notably Nationwide Children’s Hospital in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio, and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. The Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide has benefited Nationwide Children’s Hospital since its inception in 1976, and it was The Honda Classic’s move to Palm Beach County and down the street from the Nicklauses’ North Palm Beach, Fla., home that inspired Barbara and Jack to create the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation in 2004.

In the 14-plus years since, the Foundation has raised over $100 million, and their support of pediatric programs in South Florida led renowned Miami Children’s Hospital to rebrand to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Several years later, the entire Miami Children’s Health System was renamed Nicklaus Children’s Health System. There are now 14 Nicklaus Children’s Outpatient Centers spread throughout the state. The foundation has become the primary beneficiary of The Honda Classic, and Barbara has joined the Board of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

So how can you Play Yellow?

  1. Donate $18 for 18 holes at PlayYellow.org
  2. Grab a yellow shirt, head to the golf course, and post on social media with the hashtag #PlayYellow. Tell us why you Play Yellow and who you are playing yellow for!
  3. Create a Facebook Fundraiser of your own to help spread the word and use your network to fundraise for your local children’s hospital.
  4. Participate in Play Yellow’s corporate partner campaigns and purchase products that benefit the cause. Check out our corporate partners at playyellow.org

More details about Play Yellow can be found at PlayYellow.org. Follow the cause at Instagram.com/playyellow4kids, Twitter.com/playyellow4kids and #PlayYellow.
