Brigs' world changed at five years old with a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis. The once energetic boy became withdrawn, facing a new reality of constant monitoring and insulin injections. The Children's Specialty Center at University of Vermont Medical Center became a haven, offering medical care, understanding, and support. The Child Life team, funded by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, provided distraction materials and activities, easing Brigs' anxiety and helping him adjust to his new life. Today, Brigs is thriving, embracing his journey with strength and resilience.
