Kayd's journey began before birth with a diagnosis of a complex heart condition. At just seven weeks old, she faced her first open-heart surgery, a daunting experience for any family. Multiple surgeries and hospital stays to follow, each presenting their own challenges. Yet, thanks to the expertise of Dr. Harold Burkhart and his team at the member children's hospital, Kayd received not only exceptional medical treatment but also emotional support that fostered positive experiences. Their dedication, along with support from Children's Health Foundation and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, ensured that Kayd felt safe and cared for throughout her journey, allowing her fighting spirit to shine through.
