Meet Mackenzie
An ear infection and a severe reaction to antibiotics led Mackenzie and her family on a frightening journey. The once-vibrant three-year-old unexpectedly faced a life-threatening condition called Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN), causing painful skin blistering and affecting her eyesight. Mackenzie spent months in intensive care, enduring countless procedures and surgeries. But amidst the challenges, she remained a beacon of positivity, earning the nickname "PICU Princess" for her love of crowns and dresses. The unwavering support of Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, bolstered by donations from Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, provided her with the strength to face each day with courage.
