Spencer's journey began with a prenatal diagnosis of Down Syndrome, followed by a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis at just one year old. The combination presented unique challenges, making communication and expressing his needs difficult. At Atrium Health Levine Children's Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital, the dedicated staff went above and beyond to understand and support Spencer, ensuring successful visits and treatments. Thanks to their specialized care, Spencer thrives, pursuing his passions for dancing, singing, and attending diabetes camps.
