Xander's journey took an unexpected turn at five months old when he experienced his first seizure. The diagnosis of Dravet Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, brought countless challenges. Seizures, medication side effects, and developmental delays became part of his daily life. But at El Paso Children's Hospital, Xander found a team dedicated to his care. With the support of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, he received a VNS device, significantly reducing his seizures and allowing him to experience life more fully.
