Phi Mu Fraternity

A Children's Miracle Network Partner Since 1986

Phi Mu was founded in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, and is the second-oldest sorority in the nation. For over 170 years, Phi Mu has provided social opportunities, a support network and personal enrichment programs and resources to the more than 200,000 women who have joined the sisterhood at chapters on over 250 campuses. The Phi Mu Creed establishes the idea of service to others with its first line, “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand,” and also includes the line, “To minister to the needy and unfortunate.” At the 1986 National Convention, Children’s Miracle Network was adopted as Phi Mu’s national philanthropy. Now, decades later, Phi Mu’s collegiate and alumnae chapters raise over $2 million annually for CMN. Both collegiate and alumnae members have the opportunity to serve their communities by raising money and awareness for local sick and injured kids. Funds are raised through a variety of events including participation in Dance Marathons, BonnaMU music festivals, golf tournaments, profit-sharing events with local businesses, cook-offs and many others.
