A car accident on an icy morning changed Sam's life forever. The 15-year-old suffered a traumatic brain injury, leaving him unconscious for 11 days. The road to recovery was long and arduous, requiring him to relearn basic functions like speaking, eating, and walking. However, because of the unwavering support of his family, community, and the dedicated team at Monument Health, Sam defied expectations. He embraced his challenges with positivity, adopting the mantra "I can, I will. Watch me." Today, Sam is back to doing what he loves, including running, lifting, and going to school.
