Meet Samantha
At 14, Samantha's life took an unexpected turn. Severe abdominal pain led to a diagnosis of chronic ulcerative colitis. Medications failed, and she underwent a total colectomy. Post-surgery complications landed her in the ICU with Sweet Syndrome. At Phoenix Children's, Samantha faced anxiety and physical limitations. But with the support of dedicated nurses, therapy, and the Child Life Zone, she found strength and motivation. Today, Samantha is on her journey to recovery, embracing life with newfound resilience.
