Meet LeAnne

Before LeAnne’s diagnosis, she was wrapping up 8th grade and busy with volleyball, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, track, and horseback riding. When her medical journey began, her family thought she might be anemic, but at 15, everything changed when she was rushed to Renown Children’s Hospital and diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Since then, LeAnne has undergone surgery, countless blood and platelet transfusions, intensive chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, and bone marrow biopsies. At 16, she endured her hardest hospital stay yet, 17 days marked by seizures, brain swelling, infection, and dangerous blood pressure drops. Her weight fell to 80 pounds, but she never gave up. Today, LeAnne continues chemotherapy, her hair has begun to grow back, and she’s up to 100 pounds. She’s determined to keep fighting while embracing life to the fullest.
