Meet Asher
AHN Saint Vincent Hospital
At 20 weeks pregnant, Asher’s parents learned their baby was severely growth restricted, measuring in the 1st percentile. Frequent monitoring, hospital admissions, and constant worry became part of their lives. At 33 weeks, Asher’s heart rate dropped, and an emergency C-section brought him into the world. Premature and fragile, he was immediately intubated and admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at AHN Saint Vincent Hospital. His parents took comfort in the NICView camera, which let them watch over him even from afar. A sweet note from a night nurse, written as if it was from Asher’s point of view, became a cherished keepsake of the care he received. After 42 days in the NICU, Asher finally went home. Today, his story stands as a reminder of the power of expert neonatal care and the unwavering support of a team committed to helping the tiniest patients grow stronger.
