Meet Champion, Ashlynn

Born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), Ashlynn spent the first 11 months of her life at Norton Children’s Hospital, including two open-heart surgeries. She underwent her third open-heart surgery at age five and, at age eight, received a life-saving heart transplant at Norton Children’s. Throughout her journey, Ashlynn has been surrounded by the expert care of Norton Children’s doctors, nurses, and specialists who know her by name and treat her like family. From complex surgeries to long hospital stays, her care team has supported her every step of the way, providing not only medical expertise but also compassion that made difficult days brighter. Ashlynn is now home in Louisville, loving all things Spidey and helping her mom at her beauty shop. Her mom, Kindra, says, “Norton Children’s has saved my little girl’s life. They are simply the best.”
