Cade was a typically developing baby during his first year, then something changed.
He wasn’t growing or gaining weight, and just before his second birthday, doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston diagnosed him with a benign brain tumor called a Pilocytic Astrocytoma. Cade spent 42 days in the hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and beginning physical, occupational, and speech therapies to support his development. After discharge, Cade returned home to Louisiana and continued outpatient therapy at CHRISTUS Kids Clinic in Shreveport. His hard work has paid off—he recently graduated from speech therapy and continues weekly PT and OT to build strength, coordination, and mobility. Cade now returns to Houston every three months for checkups, but he is living life to the fullest. He loves baseball, golf, and learning to play the drums.
Cade is a bright light who never meets a stranger, spreading joy wherever he goes.
