Meet Cameron

Cameron is an outgoing, energetic 13-year-old who has defied the odds since birth. He and his twin sister, Kendall, were born prematurely at just 26 weeks. Three days later, doctors told Cameron’s parents that he would never walk, talk, or eat on his own due to a brain bleed. Determined to give him every opportunity, they sought care at Gillette Children’s, where Cameron was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at just 14 weeks old. From that moment, Gillette became his medical home. He has worked with occupational, physical, and speech therapists since infancy and has undergone more than a dozen surgeries to increase his mobility. Thanks to the creativity and persistence of his care team, Cameron learned to crawl, stand, walk and even run. Today, Cameron shares his story with joy, even making guest appearances on the local news.
