Eden’s journey began long before birth. During her mom’s pregnancy, doctors diagnosed Eden with severe intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). By 20 weeks, blood flow from the placenta to Eden was reversed, limiting her growth. Weekly ultrasounds tracked her progress, and doctors prepared for an early delivery. At 35 weeks and 6 days, Eden was delivered by emergency C-section, weighing just three pounds. She was whisked to Shannon Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where Children’s Miracle Network funds helped provide critical breathing support and specialized care. Now 18 months old, Eden is thriving. She’s crawling, working on standing, and has finally “placed”
on the growth chart, a milestone as remarkable as her spirit. Like most toddlers, Eden doesn’t let her small size or ankle braces slow her down. With bright eyes and a strong voice, she keeps up with her big sisters and brings endless joy to her family
