Meet Greenlee
At just four years old, Greenlee was riding to school with her grandmother when their car was struck head-on. Although secured in a car seat, she sustained a skull fracture and a brain laceration, causing bleeding and dangerous pressure in her head. She was rushed to the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital at Piedmont Columbus Regional, where she underwent emergency surgery. Following that surgery, Greenlee remained in a coma in the pediatric intensive care unit for seven days allowing her brain to heal and her body to grow stronger. When she woke up, she amazed her care team and family by answering questions—even recalling her dad’s favorite color. Today, Greenlee is a thriving 15-year-old.
She enjoys school, photography, swimming, and continues to work hard in her recovery.
