Meet Jaylin & Jayda
Jaylin and Jayda were born at just 26 weeks and five days via emergency C-section after Jayda attempted to arrive frank-breech. Both girls required ventilators in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at UF Health Jacksonville, and Jaylin needed a chest tube for extra breathing support. Over their 72-day stay, they received multiple blood transfusions before going home four weeks shy of their due date. When they were six, the twins welcomed their baby brother, Jaycob, born at 32 weeks via emergency C-section.
Admitted to the UF Health Jacksonville NICU for 31 days, Jaycob was intubated for three days after swallowing meconium, treated for jaundice, and monitored for apnea and bradycardia. Now home together with their brother, Jaylin and Jayda receive breathing treatments for chronic lung disease, and Jayda wears prescription glasses. Their smiles, strength, and love for their new baby brother inspire everyone around them.
