Meet Jonah
At their 20-week ultrasound, Jonah’s parents learned their baby had intrauterine growth restriction. Weekly ultrasounds tracked his slowed growth, and at 31 weeks, his mom’s water broke unexpectedly. Jonah was born via emergency C-section, weighing just 2 lbs. 13 oz.
He spent two months in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital, where he was cared for like family. When Jonah came home, his challenges continued with a GI motility disorder, reliance on a g-tube, living with sensory processing disorder, and a diagnosis of autism at the age of three. Through it all, Jonah was surrounded by the Children’s Village community, which became his second home before he was five months old. With early intervention services, ongoing therapies, and a supportive care team, Jonah is thriving. His journey isn’t without obstacles, but thanks to Children’s Village, his family has found hope and joy in celebrating every milestone.
