Meet Kyson & Colbie
Fraternal twins Kyson and Colbie were born at 36 weeks at United Regional and spent several days in the Level II Special Care Nursery. By eight months, Kyson wasn’t reaching milestones like his sister. He wasn’t crawling, speaking, and showed right-sided weakness, facial differences, and cranial misshaping. After extensive testing, Kyson was diagnosed with Coffin-Lowry Syndrome, a rare genetic condition affecting only 1 in 150,000–200,000 people. The syndrome impacts growth, development, heart health, and the ability to walk, talk, and learn. Despite the challenges, the seven-year-old twins are thriving in school.
Doctors once told Kyson’s parents he would never walk, but today they proudly watch him run and play. Donations to Children’s Miracle Network helped provide equipment and specialized care locally, allowing the family to stay close to home with their large community and surrounded by support.
