At 8 years old, Leysa’s world changed when she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The once energetic girl became withdrawn and fatigued, adjusting to the new reality of constant monitoring and insulin injections. Thankfully, the Salinas Valley Health Diabetes & Endocrine Center became a source of care and comfort, providing education, resources, and encouragement to help her and her family navigate this journey. Today, Leysa is thriving. With courage and determination, she has embraced her diagnosis and found strength in managing it. She continues to pursue her artistic passions, showing the world her creativity and resilience. Leysa’s journey is a testament to her spirit and to the expert, compassionate care she receives every step of the way.
