Meet Logan
After a full-term pregnancy, Logan’s arrival was met with joy - until her parents realized she wasn’t breathing. Doctors rushed her to Bernard & Millie Duke Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center’s Level 4 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where she was diagnosed with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. This severe brain injury can cause cerebral palsy, visual impairment, and developmental delays. Thanks to donations, the NICU was ready with advanced care, specialized therapies, and life-saving equipment, giving Logan the chance to breathe on her own, grow stronger, and leave the hospital after seven weeks. Now three, Logan continues care at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital, working with a team of pediatric specialists, including pediatric neurologists and developmental/behavioral health specialists. She’s thriving, surrounded by expert care that has supported her from the very beginning.
