Meet Tesla
At 7 years old, Tesla began experiencing constant fatigue, high fevers, stomach pain, and swollen lymph nodes. Concerned, her parents sought medical help, and after extensive testing and biopsies at Valley Children’s Hospital, she was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. Tesla began chemotherapy immediately, completing treatment six months later. Her parents recall the exceptional care they received from the Valley Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center and Child Life Services, recalling the staff made them feel like family during a difficult time. The Valley Children’s team showed compassion and thoughtfulness that left a lasting impact. Now 11 and in the 5th grade, Tesla has been in remission for over four years. She thrives academically and athletically, gives back through charity work, and is passionate about social justice. She also loves dancing, singing, pottery, and creative projects, embracing life with energy and purpose.
