Since the hospital opened in 1954, it has been committed to growth and progress—all in the name of healing sick children.
Today, Texas Children’s is a worldwide organization that provides inpatient acute, emergent and subspecialty services as well as clinical outpatient and rehabilitative care. Through the hospital—and a network of primary care physicians, community partners, health centers and a health plan designed especially for children—more than 3 million patient encounters are recorded each year, with children coming to us from throughout Texas, the United States and more than 70 countries across the globe.
