River was born with not one but two rare bleeding disorders: Factor VII deficiency and Glanzmann Thrombasthenia. He is the only known person in the world diagnosed with both.
Before the age of one, River faced frequent medical challenges, and by just four years old, he underwent a bone marrow transplant, the only curative option for Glanzmann’s.
While the transplant was a success, River developed a serious complication called warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia. This life-threatening condition left him hospitalized for six months. With his care team’s dedication and his family’s strength, River persevered through each challenge. Today, River is seven, thriving in remission. He can finally live his life to the fullest - growing, exploring, and enjoying childhood in ways once clouded with uncertainty.
River’s journey is a testament to resilience, expert care, and the hope that brighter days always follow the hardest battles
