Meet Graylon
One day eight-year-old Graylon fell off his scooter and began limping, unable to put weight on his leg. X-rays revealed an abnormality, and further testing confirmed osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. Under the care of the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital team, Graylon endured months of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, and ultimately the loss of part of his left leg. After a 15-hour surgery, he amazed everyone by walking the hallway less than 12 hours later. Throughout treatment, Graylon remained positive, often encouraging his parents with words like, “Don’t worry about a thing, because every little thing is going to be alright.” His strength inspired everyone around him.
Now cancer-free, Graylon is an energetic, passionate kid who loves singing, dancing, and superheroes. After a challenging journey, he’s focused on returning to school and embracing life with joy and hope for the future
