Meet Champion, Trevor

When Trevor began experiencing persistent nausea at the age of nine, his family thought it was a stomach bug. But further testing revealed something unexpected, a brain tumor. At Children’s Health, Trevor was also diagnosed with neurofibromatosis, a lifelong condition that causes tumors to grow on nerve tissue. For nearly two years, he visited the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders weekly for chemotherapy. Because surgery wasn’t an option, his family called these visits “Treatment Tuesdays.” Trevor always made them brighter by sharing a weekly joke with his care team. His humor lifted spirits, creating a special bond with everyone from doctors to security staff. After two years, Trevor rang the bell to mark the end of chemotherapy. Now 11, he’s regaining his strength, returning for regular check-ups, and dreaming big about his future - whether as an astronaut, helicopter pilot, or scientist.
